Google Photos ' New "locked folder" feature is a great way to protect photos from prying eyes. The feature turns out to include a limitation that Google didn't mention in I / O 2021: the locked folder is local, meaning it won't sync across multiple devices.
"Once the photos are transferred to [Locked Folder] from your photo library, they are deleted from the cloud storage of the photos and only live in a protected environment on your phone (although it can take up to 30 minutes for them to disappear, both of your devices are linked photos) but this means that once your phone is lost or broken, you"
The locked Folder was recently announced in Google Photos along with a host of other security features . This feature allows users to create a folder unlocked protected authentication biometrics (either your fingerprint or passcode). You can put anything you want in the area, including documents, photos, sensitive, etc.
By creating a closed folder, you can let people scroll through the camera roll without worrying about anyone seeing anything obscene. And if you lose your device, your sensitive documents and photos won't fall into the wrong hands
The Locked Folder feature is first launched on Pixel devices and will reach more Android devices throughout the year.
